Hi,
My name is Karen. I am from Suriname. In 1975, my country became independent from the Netherlands. So, Dutch is my mother tongue.
I love languages. I am proficient in English and I also speak French, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish and the local Sranan Tongo.
Exploiting new destinations, meeting people and learning about different cultures are my favorite activities. I am also interested in getting to know you!Me as a Teacher
I studied tourism, business management and law. Since 2007, I have been teaching different subjects to adolescents, adults and professionals. Karen is a very prepared teacher. She is patient and don't mind to repeat things many time. I love to study with her, especially during late evening as we always study poems or cultural local stories and it is very relaxing while learning so many new things! Taking a lesson with her is always awesome! Dankjewel!

Karen is an amazing teacher. She adapted her lessons to my request. We are analysing poems, as I love literature, and we discuss about the history of Suriname linked to the poems we are reading, learning Dutch grammar and vocabulary at the same time. Her lessons are so well constructed and full of cultural material, it really shows her effort to prepare a super well structured lesson. Dank je wel Karen ๐๐ป๐
