Hi,
My name is Karen. I am from Suriname. In 1975, my country became independent from the Netherlands. So, Dutch is my mother tongue.
I love languages. I am proficient in English and I also speak French, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish and the local Sranan Tongo.
Exploiting new destinations, meeting people and learning about different cultures are my favorite activities. I am also interested in getting to know you!Me as a Teacher
I studied business management, law and tourism. Since 2007, I have been teaching different subjects to mainly adolescents, adults and professionals. I am pedagogically qualified to develop study materials, to teach and to assess students. If you are interested in learning practical or business Dutch, you are at the right place. I can help you develop your listening and speaking skills in a formal and less formal way. Karen is an amazing teacher. She adapted her lessons to my request. We are analysing poems, as I love literature, and we discuss about the history of Suriname linked to the poems we are reading, learning Dutch grammar and vocabulary at the same time. Her lessons are so well constructed and full of cultural material, it really shows her effort to prepare a super well structured lesson. Dank je wel Karen ๐๐ป๐
