My name is Ευτυχία (Effie), which means “Happiness” in Greek and I offer happiness to the people who would love to learn Greek! My goal is to keep the Greek language alive and thriving for another five-thousand of years! I am a teacher in Greece with a MA in Education. I have lived in New York but I currently live on a Greek island. In New York, I worked in Greek-bilingual schools while studying at Hunter College (CUNY). I used to work in the public school system in Greece, but now I have the pleasure of being the Head of Studies at the Greek-American NPO that promotes Greek culture and education. I am also currently working on my PhD in the Ionian University of Greece.Me as a Teacher
I have 13 years of teaching experience in New York and in Greece, teaching Greek as a first and as a second language. I can teach Greek (A1-C2 level) depending on my students needs. Of course every student is different so I make sure to provide a customized program for everyone wanting to learn greek, specified to your needs, while moving at your pace. My subject expertise is: modern Greek and Greek history, not just the basic history that is written in handbooks, but from the “inside” history.My lessons & teaching style
My methodology is based on Constructivism which is the notion that people actively construct their own knowledge, and that reality is determined by your experiences as a learner. The major concept is that my students use their previously learned knowledge as a foundation and build on it with new things that they learn.
