I am Andrew from Michigan, and have worked and studied in Wales for the past 10 years. I got trained and certified as a Welsh Tutor through the National Centre for Learning Welsh. In my free time I love to read, meet up with friends; either at the pub or on the beach and also enjoy playing tennis. I'm very passionate about music, history and culture and love to encourage others to learn languages! I believe everyone is capable of learning a language, if you're willing to put in the time and effort. I think it's important, and what's greatly helped me, is to find out what you're interests are and what motivates you to learn. That way it's not a chore but something you look forward to. Perhaps my strength as a teacher is that I try to find what works best for you and tailor the lesson accordingly. You can't beat a good course, but making friends in the target language can serve, not only as a motivation to learn, but as a means of connecting said language to its cultural context. I'm a strong proponent of penpals! I offer my 'Sesiwn Sgwrsio' which is a golden opportunity for you to practise everything you've learned in class or on your own, to ensure lasting learning (where knowledge is retained long-term). In my experience this is where the real learning happens. It's also a chance to have fun and express yourself in the language.
