I’m Nikki, a 32-year-old native Dutch speaker from the Netherlands, now living in Istanbul, Turkey, with my husband and our three-year-old daughter. Having lived abroad for over 10 years, I know firsthand what it’s like to learn a new language and adapt to a different culture. Raising my daughter bilingually has also deepened my interest in language and culture, which inspired me to start teaching Dutch. Dutch is my native language, and I also speak fluent English and Turkish. I’m an experienced teacher with both online and in-person experience, teaching private students and groups, from children to adults. My background is diverse: I’m a former professional dancer, dance teacher and Pilates instructor, and I still work as a web designer. I’m patient, supportive and understanding, but I also know how to motivate you and keep you accountable. My lessons are always tailored to your needs and goals. Whether you want to practise conversation, improve your grammar or pronunciation, prepare for an exam, or simply feel more confident speaking Dutch, I’m here to help. My classes are a safe space where mistakes are encouraged! Learning should be fun, and I want you to feel comfortable speaking Dutch without worrying about getting everything perfect. As a native speaker, I can help you sound more natural and less “textbook”, so you can feel confident using Dutch in real life. I hope to meet you soon in class! 😊

Nikki is a great help in our journey to learning Dutch! My husband and I take the class together which is both economical and fun, we are glad we found a teacher that welcomes this. She has an engaging approach and mixes the lessons with lots of variety to keep things interesting. The homework also gets us to start conversations in Dutch in the real world which helps us get out of our shells. We are challenged in Nikki's classes but always met with positive encouragement.
