I've been taking Dutch lessons with Matthea since December 2025 and gone from A1-A2 to B1-B2. I practice a lot outside of lessons too, but her teaching gave me real structure and confidence. She picks the material herself, but is happy to let me choose topics I'm curious about or where I feel gaps. We could use a textbook, but mostly don't, since I prefer steering things myself, and she's flexible about that. She corrects mistakes gently and right away, which is what I asked for (I'm normally more of a "be strict with me" student, but she adapted to what I wanted). Her grammar explanations are clear, and we practice right after, if I forget something later, we just review it again. Lessons feel comfortable, there's plenty of time to actually speak, and she's patient even when I need to repeat something. I'd recommend her, especially if you want to work on your grammar.

I’ve been taking Dutch lessons with Matthea and have already completed 21 lessons with her. She is flexible and always adapts each lesson to my current needs, whether that’s preparing for a job interview, practicing for the NT2 B1 speaking exam, or working through the Nederlands op Niveau book. I appreciate that Matthea always stays focused on learning, and our lesson time is never wasted on unnecessary distractions. The homework she assigns is relevant to what we’ve discussed, appropriately challenging, and practical. Since starting lessons with Matthea, I’ve noticed a clear improvement in both my speaking confidence and my overall understanding of Dutch. If you’re looking for a teacher who explains grammar clearly, gets you talking, and tailors each lesson to your needs, I would highly recommend Matthea.

One more great lesson with Mattea. Before choosing her, I had two trial lessons with other teachers. One of her strengths is how structured and well-prepared her classes are. On top of that, she is fun and easygoing, which makes the lessons enjoyable. I can clearly see how skilled and knowledgeable she is, and how helpful each lesson has been. Thank you for your support!

I have been taking lessons with Matthea for over a year with some breaks. I really enjoy her teaching her style, she always comes to lessons prepared with interesting material, we speak fully in Dutch and she teaches me new useful vocabulary every lesson. She is very flexible and adaptable, always corrects my mistakes, and is helping me a lot with building my speaking confidence. I would 100% recommend Matthea for anyone looking for a well-rounded teacher who is especially skilled at teaching speaking!
