Hi my name is Lien. I was born and raised in Germany but my parents are Vietnamese. I’ve bin living in Vietnam for a few months now and one of my personal goals is to improve my Vietnamese language skills and to get to know my culture better.
I studied linguistics, specialising mainly in German studies and partially in English studies. During my studies, I “dabbled” in many languages like Chinese, Spanish, Turkish,… so I know exactly what it’s like to learn a new language as an adult.Me as a Teacher
I am naturally very detail-oriented and can pay more attention to specific things upon request. At the same time, I understand that being overly critical of mistakes may not be very helpful. Depending on the level, I will adjust accordingly. I would describe myself as a very patient, attentive, open, and casual tutor.My lessons & teaching style
My main goal is to motivate my students to speak freely and not be afraid of making mistakes. Although I have Vietnamese roots, my Vietnamese is not perfect. Since I've been in Vietnam, I've noticed that I lack many vocabulary words and sometimes feel uncomfortable when speaking with locals.
I would like to help you eliminate this in class. Speaking, in my opinion, is the key to mastering a language. I'd say my teaching style is more casual than formal.5.0

Mein Deutschkurs mit Lien war wirklich toll! Sie ist eine ausgezeichnete Lehrerin, die sehr freundlich und geduldig ist. Ich habe mich gut gefühlt, mit ihr zu sprechen, selbst wenn ich Fehler gemacht habe. Sie war immer geduldig und sehr nett.
