I am a professional Finnish language teacher and I have 2 years of teaching experience as a Finnish as second language teacher. By this point, I have taught a variety of courses in different learning contexts, such as universities, adult education centers and integration training. I enjoy teaching Finnish immensely – there is nothing better than a student understanding a concept (having an Ahaa-experience) that they find puzzling before.
During my freetime, I have plenty of hobbies to keep me busy. I enjoy reading, watching movies, baking, going to the gym, just to name a few. I also enjoy the Finnish nature; long walks on beach or in forests.

I have taught courses for complete beginners but also for students that are on B1-level, so I welcome students of all language levels to contact me. In my studies I specialized in adult education.
My students have told me that I am an approachable person, who is easy to talk with and always answers each student question with care. According to my students, my lessons have a good, interesting, laid-back yet focused atmosphere that makes learning enjoyable and effective. Additionally, based on the student feedback I have received, I am an excellent choice as your teacher, if you experience language learning anxiety or stress.My lessons & teaching style
I enjoy using a variety of teaching methods and materials, and when planning the lessons I take in consideration the student's goals, wishes and needs. I usually do not prefer to give long lectures during my lessons, instead I create interactive learning experiences, where students get all the guidance and support they need but they are in an active role as learners, as this is in accordance with the the key findings of recent research studies.
Still if the student wishes for longer teacher led segments, I am in no way opposed to them. My teaching style is very adaptable and I can recognize the benefits of teacher led segments as well.My teaching material

Master of Arts - Jyväskylä university - 2024Completed a Master's degree in Finnish language and literature teacher -programme. The degree permits me to teach Finnish language and literature as a subject teacher in Finnish schools but also to work as a Finnish as second language teacher. It includes 60 study credits of pedagogy which gives me the qualification to work as a teacher in Finland.
