A becoming teacher in Swedish as a second language, PE and ESL As a teacher I am engaging and caring. I care about students' needs and I do my best in order to help students to reach their goals. A good teacher gives room for the student to speak and to think, and that is what I aim to do when teaching. I get exited every time I can successfully learn a student something new and see a development, it is very rewarding to me. My strengths are my own background as language learner since I know how one can learn a language depending on whether it is supposed to be used in social contexts or at school in more academic situations.

Finnish teacher with more than 3 years of experience I have to be honest, studying a language like this one is not easy, but it’s also not impossible. It demands consistency and patience.I learned Finnish as an adult and I think that’s one of my strengths as a teacher, because it gave me a clear understanding of the (learning) process and the structure of the language and also the ability to “translate” difficult concepts and explain things, like the partitive case, that don’t exist in other languages.

I believe that speaking practice should be prioritized as early as possible in learning process. Using new words while speaking is a great way for memorizing them. Experienced and Certified Native Finnish Teacher In 2014 I got my teaching certificate and have been teaching full-time ever since. I have worked in language centers around the world, eg. Ireland, China, Japan, New Zealand. I am specialized in teaching customized communicative Finnish: from total beginners to intermediate students, levels A0 - B2. I have plenty of experience teaching all levels, all ages, students of different backgrounds and various language goals. My students have been a mixture of entire kindergarten groups, pensioners, business professionals, language enthusiasts, exchange students and test preppers, etc. As someone who enjoys learning new, I love helping students on their own language journeys.

When you keep doing that, you can't help but learn to express yourself better in any language! Listening to native level language is also crucial - especially hearing the actual spoken language that natives speak! Spoken Finnish, for example, is quite different from formal Finnish. I'm an emphatic and patient teacher and I can adjust my speaking pace and style to any level. In my lessons, you will feel relaxed and safe. As a music teacher I know that a supportive atmosphere is vital for learning! I'm also more than happy to adjust the lessons to student's needs.

I can speak both formal and casual Finnish and Swedish, and I recommend that you specify which one you want to practice. Although I'm quite familiar with grammatical and other theory, I try to teach everything through context to make it meaningful. That way learning is engaging and fun, and it's easier to wrap one's head around things that way. I value that pupil enjoys the learning process and gets to freely choose the conversation topics.
