Hi! Iām Maiš Iām a Japanese tutor with 6+ years of experienceāand a drummer!š„
Iāve been a big fan of British rock, especially The Beatles, since I was a kid. (I even visited Liverpool during study abroad!) I love Ringo Starr and started drumming in high school. Now I keep my passion alive by jamming with friends and playing Beatles tunes!
If youāre a Beatles fan, I also have lessons that use example sentences about the members. (I design materials with publicity rights in mindāso while I may not share illustrated slides, Iāll provide lesson notes and grammar points.) And even if youāre not into music, letās enjoy chatting in Japaneseāespecially if you love cute things like I do!Me as a Teacher
I kicked off my teaching journey in 2010 by giving English lessons to Japanese learners.
In 2019, I had a wonderful experience teaching Japanese at a senior high school in Taiwan. After returning to Japan, I jumped into online teachingāand Iām still loving it today!
Now I connect with students from all over the world. I speak English and Chinese, so even complete beginners can feel comfortable in my lessons.
My lessons are unique: since language learning can sometimes feel tough, I like to teach through what my students enjoy. Thatās why I create original materials with cute illustrations and even bring in Beatles topicsābecause Iām a huge fan!**My lessons & teaching style
Since I specialize in teaching Japanese grammar through English, my lessons are ideal for:

Senior High School Japanese TeacherI had a wonderful experience at a national senior high school in Taiwan. Most of the students were beginners of Japanese language, I taught them not only Hiragana and Katakana, grammar and some useful phrases, but Japanese culture!

It was great fun chatting about music with Mai-sensei. Really helpful too, and I loved hearing about her performances. Whatās more, she has an excellent knowledge of grammar and gives plenty of explanations in English.

Because Mai-sensei is such a big Beatles fan, it was a lot of fun to try talking about Beatles stories in Japanese! Plus, she has a lot of experience performing, which makes the lessons even more fun!

Her lessons are super creative and fun. The best part is that I can join without feeling stressed. I usually get nervous, but she supports me in English, so I can relax. At the same time, she gives me lots of chances to practice speaking Japanese. Her original materials are super easy to understand.
