My name is Hilialdo. I am a psychologist, born in Mexico, and currently living in Argentina. I have worked at universities as a professor; however, I am now very excited to support people in learning Spanish. I usually spend my time reading, working, and playing basketball. I enjoy humor, tacos, traveling the world, and teaching.

I am a very calm person; I don’t like to force things and adapt to each person’s pace. In my classes, I aim to create an atmosphere of humor and warmth, but most importantly, a space that fosters a sense of safety and confidence.

I want to hear about your goals and challenges so we can create a personalized plan together. We can start with simple conversations or vocabulary based on your interests. I prefer a constructivist approach, where you discover the logic of the language without feeling pressured. Rather than focusing on memorization, we’ll aim for immersion and integration through dialogue and humor.

Ha sido un placer charlar y aprender español con Hilialdo. Es una persona con muchos conocimientos y es intuitivo en respeto a dar sugerencias sin sobrecorregir. Gracias a él, puedo sostener una conversación detallada y a veces se me olvido que estoy hablando en otro idioma.

I’ve been chatting with Hilialdo for a couple of months now, and outside of the significant progress he has helped me achieve in Spanish, I have found all of our discussions enriching and thought provoking. Among the topics we’ve been talking about recently have been comedy, psychology, ethics, and cinema, and each discussion has gone in a direction where I feel I’ve learned something new and interesting!
He has a great sense of humour and is an excellent conversationalist and deep thinker!

He provided clear and helpful feedback throughout the session and stayed really engaged in conversation, especially around the clinical topics I requested. ¡Me alegro que Hilialdo haya decidido empezar clases con Italki! Está siempre paciente conmigo y me siento relajado con él. Mi español ha mejorado hasta el punto que nuestras conversaciones parecen al nivel que uso en inglés. Cada vez que nos vemos, salgo con frases útiles y maneras diferentes de expresarme mejor.
También, es como estoy hablando con un amigo que he conocido mucho más tiempo que unos pocos meses y una hora me parece diez minutos. A veces hablamos sobre temas académicos y a veces más sencillos pero sin excepción los disfruto!
