French classroom teacher I am a native French speaker. I was born and raised right outside of Paris. I have always loved learning about different languages and cultures. This is why I decided to learn English and move to the United-States to go to college where I learned to teach my native language to people who, just like me, want to learn a new language. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Science of Education with a focus on French. During my years in college, I had many opportunities to teach in classrooms. I like teaching groups of students because it allows for different types of interactions. But I also gave one-on-one lessons which are more specific and tailored to the students' needs. I like teaching with real world material. Depending on my students, I can use news articles, books, videos, and music. I also like to give them the opportunity to practice their knowledge with conversations or short discussions, since the final goal of learning a language is communication. But I am a flexible teacher. I can adapt to my students' needs and preferences. Therefore, I can also give direct lessons on specific language features and help the students test their knowledge with exercises and quizzes.

I really enjoyed my first lesson with Cecillia. She asked great questions that helped her understand my level and learning goals. She spoke clearly and at a comfortable pace, which made it easy for me to understand and participate in the conversation. Some things to note: This is my first time ever attempting to learn French, I'm the ultimate SLOW LEARNING beginner and Cecelia has been SO patient with me. I never have time to practice the homework materials she includes for me due to the workload at my job, but she always allows us to review previous lessons together and homework together. The audio and files she provide are very helpful and the lessons seem to melt into each other naturally instead of me just learning a bunch of random French words. She also provides a 0% judgemental zone and is just a very nice person, give her a try if you're scared! I tried another teacher on a different app when I was shopping around and they were late and in pajamas with the TV playing and not engaged. Cecelia was my second attempt and I knew immediately she would be present and she did not disappoint.
