Hi! I'm a Dutch-Finnish catmom living in Finnish Lapland. 🏕️🐱 I was born in the Netherlands, where I finished my high school and music studies in a pictoresque city in the north. 🏘️ After some detours to Asia and the western part of Holland, I ended up moving to Finnish Lapland, a place I had not been before. 💁🏻‍♀️ I don't regret that decision to this day. Maar vertel... waar kom jij vandaan en waarom wil jij Nederlands leren? 😎

Me as a Teacher

I want you to have fun learning Dutch and to feel relaxed when speaking. Mistakes happen and they happen for a reason. You are learning! Learning is supposed to be fun, in my humble opinion. 🙋🏻‍♀️ In my past life as a musician and violinist, I gained lots of experience teaching music to groups and individuals, from adults to children. I have always wanted my lessons to be creative and engaging. This will not change now that the topic changed from music to the Dutch language. Music and language have lots in common anyway. 😊

My lessons & teaching style

Tijdens mijn iTalki lessen met jou praten we veel! Uiteraard zoveel mogelijk in het Nederlands. 🇱🇺 You may ask me to correct you, but we can also let the mistakes come and go, so the conversation keeps flowing. I can't help you prepare for an official test nor can I help you learn Dutch from scratch, because I'm not a professional teacher. I do, however, can help you to become more confident in expressing yourself in Dutch and striking up conversations with Dutch persons. Not every student is the same, so I adapt myself to the person in front of me. Let's talk more during our trial lesson! 😌
