Andrina

Andrina is the best teacher I have found. I have worked with many spanish teachers, on this platform and on others. Most are good, some are great but Andrina is the best. She is rigorous and critical, but at the same time she is patient and kind. This is what you need to progress through the learning process. Learning a language is hard, but teaching a language is harder. You need a teacher who is prepared for every lesson, and willing to do the work necessary to take you through the language. Andrina does this seemingly effortlessly. It seems effortless because she has true mastery of spanish, and she has a mastery of english. She understands the nuances of each language and she is able to teach these nuances clearly. At a certain point in your language learning journey you are going to have to decide if you are willing to work to achieve fluency, and when you are, come to Andrina.

I have completed more than forty lessons with Andrina over the last several months, and I plan to continue taking her classes well into the future. I have had many Spanish teachers over the last several years, and Andrina is (by far!) the best teacher I have had. For the first time, I am making measurable progress toward fluency, and I owe that to Andrina´s excellent teaching. Every class, Andrina reviews my homework, discusses any mistakes I have made, offers mini lessons within the homework to explain the logic behind the corrections, practices conversation with me, and discusses how we will move forward with the next lesson. The homework is always interesting and helpful, and it often teaches me something new about Mexican culture and traditions. Her explanations of grammar, vocabulary, and colloquial spanish are always clear and memorable. And, the best part for me is that conversation with Andrina is wonderful! Andrina is the best!

Andrina is a fantastic teacher and she really knows what it takes to learn another language. I have been taking lessons with her on italki for 3 months now and no one has had a bigger impact on my Spanish learning so far than her. In my very first lesson she nicely told me that I needed to consume a lot more comprehensible input than I was doing to reach my goal of fluency and her recommendations and feedback have been spot on. As a long time intermediate level learner / speaker I now feel like I am making steady improvements and I am on a real path to achieving my goals. ¡Gracias Andri!

Today Andrina patiently and thoroughly taught the VERY NUANCED differences between ser/fue/era/estar/estuvo/estaba/hubo/habia. I learned a ton...this is very tough concept for native English speakers learning Spanish, so I GREATLY appreciate Andrina showing me this grammar concept. Like I said previously, this is where you need to be, right now, to learn Spanish. You will not regret it. You will learn a lot and you will learn quick if you commit to the work and studying. Andrina is a highly skilled teacher, she earns the highest rating possible as a Spanish teacher.

I have been taking lessons with Drina for over a year and my Spanish skills have gone up and down with practice (or lack thereof). Her patience with me never falters. She is one of a kind!

Andrina somehow makes teaching Spanish to a novice like myself look like we're both having fun. I can see why she's had more than 8400 lessons! I've had classes with many iTalki teachers and Andrina is clearly one of the best. She's a total pro! She always has well thought out lessons for me and gives me practical advice as we go along in our conversations.
