Malagasy is my native language. I was educated in French, learned English mostly on my own, and had to learn Dutch from scratch while I was living in The Netherlands. I truly understand and am very passionate about the challenges (and the joy!) of learning a new language.
Le malgache est ma langue maternelle. J'ai été éduquée en français, appris l'anglais principalement toute seule, et j'ai dû apprendre le néerlandais de A à Z pendant mon séjour aux Pays-Bas. Je comprends parfaitement et suis même passionnée par les défis (et la joie!) liés à l'apprentissage d'une nouvelle langue.Me as a Teacher
I have worked as an one-on-one English tutor in the past and am currently a private Malagasy tutor. I always strive to adapt to each student's pace and needs, especially beginners and quiet learners. My goal is to make each lesson a positive, low-stress experience where you can enjoy learning and make real progress.
J’ai accompagné des apprenants en anglais en cours particuliers, et j’enseigne actuellement le malgache en suivi individuel. J’accorde une grande importance à l’adaptation au rythme et aux besoins de chacun, notamment des débutants ou de ceux qui manquent encore d’assurance. My lessons are centered around conversation, with gentle guidance and rich cultural context. I use visual support, like PowerPoint, to keep things clear and engaging. Each session is designed around what you’re looking for — whether it’s travel, work, family/friends, or just the joy of learning!

My first lesson with Mia was wonderful! I am taking a couple of Malagasy lessons before travelling to Madagascar and she taught me exactly what I wanted to know. She even gave me a Powerpoint with basic phrases, pronunciation, and audio recordings of her saying the phrases. She was lovely to talk to and her English was fantastic. Misaotra betsaka Mia!

Mia is a friendly and patient teacher. Learning Malagasy with her has been a really enjoyable experience. The lessons are really helpful for pronunciation and vocabulary. She creates learning resources for each lesson that are especially useful. I would highly recommend Mia as a Malagasy teacher!

Mia is a great Malagasy tutor.
She made me feel at ease during the whole lesson.
She makes it easy to understand, her explanations are very good and she cheered me whenever I hit a hard spot.
Learning with her is very enjoyable especially using the PowerPoint presentation which is also a great help when it comes to work on your own between each session.
I would definitely recommend her to whoever wants to learn Malagasy language.

Mia is so friendly and made my venture into learning Malagasy very enjoyable. I love that she had a powerpoint with pronunciation and how she explained the differences in the natural, daily way of communicating with the standard way.
