CELTA certified, Linguistics BA, PhD, native English multilingual, specialised in academic support I am a qualified ELT instructor (CELTA/TEFL, BA in Linguistics) with specialist knowledge of phonology, grammar/syntax, and morphology of numerous language families, as well as substantial experience in academic writing and editing (student to professional), academic advising, personal statement drafting, and academic career planning. Originally from the US, I have resided in the UK since 2013 and also lived and worked in several other countries (Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria) for over 20 years, with my work taking me to numerous others including Japan, Korea, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Greece, Norway, and the Netherlands. I am passionate about languages, and my enthusiasm for languages and for teaching is evident in my classes. I have studied the languages of almost every country I have visited (and a few that I haven't, including Brazilian Portuguese because I love the sound of it!) and have learned 5 languages to excellent/very good competence. My interest in languages is what led me to complete a Linguistics BA degree, as well as to teach English as a foreign language.
