Stop Freezing, Start Speaking English With Confidence. You know English, so why do you freeze and forget everything you know when a native speaker talks to you? Hi, I’m Kelly. I’m a native English speaker from Cambridge, now living just outside London. I’d love to help you bridge the gap between studying English and confidently using it in real life. As someone learning Spanish myself, I’ve realised there’s a point where grammar and vocabulary aren’t enough. On a recent trip to Spain, I wanted to practice in cafes and shops, but every time I froze and forgot everything I knew. I was very aware that the shop assistants and waiters were busy, and so I always felt flustered and rushed. And in the end, I’d revert to English because it felt easier in the moment. I left Spain kicking myself, feeling disappointed and sad that I’d missed the chance to practice. Speaking with native speakers is very different from speaking to a teacher in a traditional language class. That’s why I became a community tutor. I want to give you a relaxed space to have real conversations, take your time, make mistakes, and build confidence without the pressure to be perfect, so that when you are in a situation where you’re wanting to speak English, especially with native speakers, you’re less likely to freeze. I especially enjoy talking about travel, languages, different cultures, holistic health, holistic living, nature, personal development, and mindful living. I look forward to helping you feel more confident in English and using English in real life.
