Hi everyone! My name is Mark Lathouwers. I am from the Netherlands and my hobby is to teach Dutch. I was born in Noord-Brabant and currently I live in Noord-Holland (but if you don't know the provinces yet, we can learn them in my lesson :)). I graduated from university with a degree in Philosophy, so I have advanced proficiency in reading and writing in both Dutch and English.Me as a Teacher
Teaching is one of my hobbies and my passion. I have experience guiding students, including through teaching Dutch. I have access to text books (levels B1 to C1, and lower). In my lessons, we can practice day to day conversations, grammar topics that you want to learn and reading articles.
My lessons are variable and I will always try to adapt to each student's needs. My lessons & teaching style
I focus on your needs. During our trial lesson we can discuss your goals in learning Dutch and we can make a planning for fullfilling these goals. I can always share my text books with you, but if you want to have some books of your own, I will give you advice on what books to buy. If you already have study materials, we can also use them.
Besides official Dutch learning materials, we can also discuss news articles, videos and movies which you have recently watched. I can also give you advice on some helpful (and fun) Dutch movies and series to watch (and which we can discuss during our lessons).My teaching material

Mark is a great teacher! He prepares a lot of learning material; he really tailors it to the student's needs (in my case we, practised for the Inburgering examen) ; and he shows flexibility when it comes to time/schedule. Can recommend Mark enough!

Mark sent me a historical article to talk about as we'd been talking about the history of Anglo-Dutch wars. And he's made a suggestion for the next lesson. He really tries to tailor the lesson to the student's needs and interests. He's really polite, patient, and great to talk to.

Mark is a very patient teacher, he is happy to work at my pace, my objective is conversational Dutch, so we have a nice conversation about the week etc, Mark also provides me a list of words to practice for the next week along with practice exams
