Oxford-Educated, Certified EFL Tutor Hello! I'm Em, a native English speaker, a qualified TEFL teacher, and a graduate from the University of Oxford. I love English as a language, and I hope that, following our lessons together, you will love it too. Having studied English language and literature at Times Higher Education number 1 university in the world, I have a thorough understanding of the beautiful language which you seek to learn. Together, we can cover the fundamentals and also the smaller details, all that you will need to become a fluent speaker. I offer the following lesson types: ✅ General English ✅ Literature discussion and analysis ✅ Cambridge Exam Preparation ✅ SAT and GCSE English (ages 4-16) ✅ Conversational skills (including British idioms and expressions for casual discourse) ✅ Reading comprehension ✅ Creative English ✅ Editing (help with homework and other material) There are three essential parts to language learning: 1. Immersion in the language (avoid translation!) 2. Getting to know the culture surrounding the language 3. Learning through topics that you find interesting! The process is very individualised and subjective to your learning style, goals, and interests. As such, I will adapt my lessons to suit you best. However, to ensure efficient acquisition, we will spend time on all the different aspects of communication: reading, listening, speaking, and writing!

I had such a lovely experience with Em. She is warm, kind, thoughtful and genuinely nice to speak with. She has a very natural way of making you feel comfortable and welcome, while also being intelligent, articulate and engaging. The conversation flowed effortlessly and the whole lesson felt both enjoyable and meaningful. She is a wonderful teacher and a genuinely lovely person.
