I am a Belgian who moved to Finland for my Master's degree in Education, and never looked back. I love learning myself, and that includes new languages! I have a passion for history, nature, reading, and different cultures, but as I love learning new things, I am open to everything. As a teacher, I mostly focus on helping you find your confidence while learning the new language. Making mistakes is a natural part of the process, and I will not nitpick or correct all the time, as long as you are understandable while speaking. I focus on making you feel comfortable first and then start pushing you a little bit out of your comfort zone, as that is when you learn the most. I am open to feedback and flexible in adapting my teaching style or materials to what works best for you. The biggest struggle for many language learners is the hurdle of actually speaking, which is certainly mine as well. Speaking in your new language without judgment is one of my most important pillars to start feeling confident! I am flexible and willing to adapt my teachings to your specific needs and struggles. Finding your motivations to expand your vocabulary and creating situations to actually speak in your daily life, is one of my main goals as a teacher. My lessons will be mainly focused on speaking, though I can give some readings as homework to increase your knowledge. I love books as well, and I think they are a great teaching source!
