Hey there! 👋 I'm Ian, an American English speaker from Michigan in the United States. I'm also a passionate language learner, having studied Korean, German, Chinese, and Japanese 🗣️ I’ve worked as an EFL teacher for six years in South Korea and Japan with students of all ages and levels, and now live and teach in sunny Da Nang, Vietnam ⛱️🌞 I am passionate about helping students be able to express themselves in English in their own way. I am also a translator of Korean comics on the side 💥 I love to travel, learn about history and new cultures, and am a big Chinese and Korean drama fan.

Me as a Teacher

I am a teacher with over six years of experience and have taught students of all ages and levels. I believe that each student has unique learning needs, and as such I will tailor the class to suit you. I am flexible in my lessons and use a variety of materials during our lessons that bet help you achieve your goals. In addition, I excel in teaching professional writing and pronunciation and am experienced in IELTS test preparation with adults and the Cambridge A2 Key Test (KET) and A2 Flyers Test with children.

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons are interactive and personalized to meet each individual student’s goals. I tailor lessons to be more structured or relaxed based on each student’s wishes. For advanced level students wanting to improve, I offer article-based discussion lessons to expose them to a large variety of topics and vocabulary needed to push their English to the next level. For those wanting to focus on business English, I offer structured courses that include listening, reading, grammar and discussion practice needed to develop a professional proficiency.
