Airi-san is the teacher you want if you're a beginner at Japanese. If you're like me and get anxiety even thinking about a one-on-one lesson, because you're not confident in your Japanese, then congratulations, you've found your tutor. I actively avoided any tutor here that says they have conversation based lessons, because I don't need that kind of pressure in my life and I doubt you do, either. Airi-san is the first tutor I've had to where I'm able to listen and understand Japanese, because she makes sure to keep everything at my level. She has a Masters in English and is easily able to do that. She will repeat important information or reword it so it's not just "good luck hearing it the first time." She makes an organized guide with all the new words you've learned. And it's not just a wall of text. It's divided into word - meaning - example sentence. She's also been kind enough to recommend music when I've asked, so her lessons also add to my Spotify playlists. Thanks Airi-san!

I just finished another great lesson with Airi-san and realized I've not actually left her a review yet and since she absolutely deserves the best review ever, here goes. Airi-san is perhaps the easiest tutor I've ever spoken with. After the very first lesson, I was looking forward to the second one. That's never happened before. She has a Masters degree in Language arts and working towards her PhD and it absolutely shows. She's so good at speaking at a level I can consistently understand that I thought I was better at Japanese than what I actually am. It took me about 3 lessons to figure out she was always talking at my level. If you're like me and you're a beginner, but know some basics, she'll grow your confidence. It's motivating to be able to see my progress speaking with someone in Japanese. I feel like I went from can't say a sentence to can have a conversation. I know you don't know me, but trust me when I say you should book her trial lesson. You won't regret it.

In the short time of her teaching, I learned a lot from her teaching style and being so adaptive to your learning style. She is patient, full of good energy, and ideas. A-lot of enthusiasm as well! But the best she does as a teacher is to encourage you even if you are right or wrong. She constructs the next lesson, so she has teaching material that is based off your prior lesson!
