About Me

My name is Timothy. I am here to teach you Dutch. I majored in Arabic language at the University of Amsterdam. I have lived in few countries and learned a lot about different languages, cultures and histories. I have been teaching Dutch professionally for four years now. I have made many videos on YouTube of which many have reached 100k+ views and a few even 1m+ views. I enjoy discovering new hobbies and learning new things. I like to drink coffee and talk with friends, read about a variety of topics and walk in the city. I hope to see you soon!

Me as a Teacher

I want to create a relaxed atmosphere where the student feels encouraged to share his thoughts and discover his creativity. I like to share my knowledge with the student and give him all the knowledge about Dutch language and culture. Services I provide : NT2 and inburgering exam I can help anybody pass the NT2 exam. By making exercises together and providing homework. Intensive language course You can reach A2 level starting form zero in 25 lessons. From A2 to B2. We can learn advanced grammar topics and new vocubarly to reach B2. From B2 to C1. By reading and listening to advanced topics we can enhance the vocabulary Dutch for kids I have a lot of experience with children.

My lessons & teaching style

I want to help you as much as I can on your learning journey. This includes: planning your goals following your progress finding your strengths We will start by getting to know each other to make the best strategy for you according to your needs and wishes. If you are an advanced learner, then we can talk about technical topics, where you learn all the new vocabulary to reach C1 or C2 level. I will try to refer back to previous lessons to see if you have remembered the words. I like to give historical context of all the grammar I explain as well. By providing historical context I can show more background information, so you can understand why the rules are as they are today.

I have learned a lot of languages on Italki before, but Tim has to be by far my favorite teacher. I look forward to my lesson every time. Even on days when I am not in the mood, learning with Tim puts me in a good mood; he's a great teacher!! He is also experienced in learning languages so he is good at finding examples and rephrasing things to make sure you understand.
