Learn Classical Tibetan (Chöke) or Dzongkha | Former Shedra Principal | 15+ Years Experience. I help students read and understand Classical Tibetan (Chöke/Choeke) and build confident skills in Dzongkha, the national language of Bhutan. My lessons are designed for: • Buddhist practitioners who want to read scriptures in Chöke • Students, researchers and translators working with Classical Tibetan texts • People preparing to live, work or travel in Bhutan • Bhutanese heritage learners who want to strengthen their reading and writing I hold a Master’s degree in Buddhist Studies from Tango University of Buddhist Studies in Thimphu. I have more than 15 years of teaching experience, and I formerly served as Principal of Phajoding Shedra. Complete beginners are welcome. In Chöke, I can teach you from the alphabet through grammar, vocabulary and translation, or guide you through a Buddhist text of your choice. In Dzongkha, I teach speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar, with lessons adapted to the learner’s age, level and goals. My teaching is patient, clear and carefully structured around each student. In a trial lesson, we will discuss what you want to achieve, assess your starting point and agree on a practical learning plan. I look forward to meeting you.
