4 Years Language Teaching Exprience, Daily Hokkien, Business Chinese, Daily and Traveling Chinese Hello! I'm Daniel Chen. I'm from Wenzhou, Zhejiang, and now live in World Commodity City --Yiwu. The Minnan (Hokkien) I teach is a bit special—it's Southern Zhejiang Hokkien. Centuries ago, my ancestors migrated from Quanzhou and Zhangzhou in Fujian to the Cangnan and Pingyang areas of Wenzhou, bringing their dialect with them. Over the centuries, it took root in Zhejiang, preserving many archaic Minnan pronunciations and vocabulary while picking up a subtle local accent. My native languages are Mandarin and Hokkien, and I also speak English fluently for teaching. Living in Yiwu—a city where you can find small commodities from just about everywhere—means I run into people from all over the world on a daily basis. In the markets, cafés, on the street, there's always a different accent or language around me. That environment has made me completely at ease teaching students from different cultural backgrounds, and it's given me a strong sense that learning a language isn't just about memorizing words—it's about feeling at home in another culture. I have 4 years of teaching experience.
