Hi! My name is Dasha. I am a teacher, traveler and language enthusiast! I live in Tokyo the city of neon lights, amazing restaurants and incredibly polite people. Before I moved to the Land of the Rising Sun I lived and worked in Saint Petersburg. For the past 3 years I have been sharing my time between these two wonderful locations in order to complete my course in psychology of negotiation. My latest hobbies taken up during lockdown are photography and cooking.

Me as a Teacher

I have been teaching Russian for over 10 years now working with diverse learners of all levels. My students are language enthusiasts and business people who need Russian for work. Among my corporate gigs are Sumitomo Forestry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. I am greatly passionate about my profession, and I like helping others to improve their Russian. I’m interested in many different topics, and I’m happy to focus on my learners’ goals.

My lessons & teaching style

In my lessons I use a variety of materials (textbooks, online resources... ). My teaching style is very flexible. However, creating my lessons I try to consider the following: - strong grammatical foundation is important, where as well as learning what to say, you learn why you say it. Without this, you will find it very difficult to progress beyond 'phrase-book' Russian, where you can communicate in only a few set situations – with little chance of understanding the response. - practical models to illustrate grammar in action. - focus primarily on the spoken language through conversation and oral drilling.

1 Russian lesson

서로 스카이프 접속이 잘 안되어 강의가 10분이나 지연되었습니다. 러시아어 레벨을 물어봐주셨고 제가 러시아어를 전혀 모른다고 했습니다. 처음 수업인만큼 제 레벨을 몰라서 수업준비를 전혀 못하셨디고 했습니다. 그러나 즉각적인 수업준비 내용이 제 수준에 맞는거였고 재미있게 가르쳐주셔서 10분 수업을 못들은게 아쉬웠습니다. 예의가 매우 좋으셨고 친절하셨습니다. 러시아 단어를 가르쳐주시면서 그 단어가 한국어로 뭐냐고 물으셔서 동기부여가 되었고 제가 빨리 습득한다고 말씀해주셔서 동기부여가 되었습니다.
