About Me

I’ve started private teaching in 2014. I have no accent, and I teach in standard German. In the beginning I taught people from East Asia, but today my students are coming from all over the world. I'm particularly interested in languages like Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Right now I'm trying to master Japanese. Understanding how these languages are structured gives me the opportunity to teach you German in a more understandable way. In addition, I can help you, to pass the TestDaF, which is the general German language test for foreigners, who want to start studying at a German University. I've also experience in preparing students for the DSH language test and the Goethe-Zertifikat.My lessons & teaching style

Lars is one of the best language teachers I have ever had. I love talking to him and 90 minutes go by so fast it seems we were only talking for 15 minutes! He is knowledgeable and open minded to learn about other cultures and something that really make a huge difference for me is that since day 1 he pushes me to speak German (even though when we started I knew 3 German words), he also speaks German as much as possible in class but he does not make it difficult to understand. Lars also asks challenging questions about the content we work through the classes so I never get a “fake feeling” of understanding. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an online language immersion, as he provides really fun beginner exercises and also interesting conversations if you are more advanced. Really really enjoy talking with him and can’t wait for our next class! Thank you so much for your patience, Lars (: !

Lars is an amazing, experienced, and friendly teacher, available for a vast majority of topics. I started learning with him about 2 months ago to prepare for my Goethe B1 exam, especially for the speaking section. Before that, I was completely lost about how far I was away from the passing score and what to do to prepare for the test fully. In his first lesson, he quickly grasped the whole picture of my German level at that time and, in the subsequent lessons, guided me with the strategies for each part. Weeks of training with his guidance finally brought me the B1 certificate. I am very happy with the progress of learning so far and satisfied with his way of teaching.
I recommend him because you will find a clue for your next steps after a few minutes in the first lesson with him. His feedback is comprehensive but concise, and he helps you follow that. I will continue learning with him to stretch my language skills to the next level. Vielen Dank, Lars!
