IELTS Examiner, 17 years of examining + 21 years of teaching practice I'm a linguist through education and practice, though my main study (MA) was in sociology.
My passions are languages, books, music and bicycle. I'm always open to new experience and knowledge.
My English teaching experience started in 2006, after I completed CELTA. I taught English in Moscow, Russia between 2006 and 2012, with a teaching episode in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2010. I also examined IELTS both in Russia and Scotland. Then I moved to back to the UK, where I also worked as an IELTS examiner, in addition to being a court interpreter. Fast forward, I worked again in Russia (IELTS + teaching) and now in Poland, where again I work as an IELTS examiner in the local centre as well as globally, online.
The key word to describe my lesson is adaptability. Every student might need a different approach. I understand my role as a teacher as a medium through which the student can connect with the language and as a guide who helps the student to grasp the mechanics of the language.
