Hello my name is Josh I am from Chicago USA and I am very passionate about helping you learn English. After graduating university in 2008, and obtaining a Tesol certification I went to Seoul South Korea and worked as an English teacher there for 7 years. It was an amazing experience and I am very grateful that I took the opportunity to learn Korean while I lived there. In addition to being an English teacher I am also a successful entrepreneur. I started my own online company selling electric bikes and other rideables in 2016 and grew that business and then sold that company in 2019. My hobbies include fishing, yoga, taekwondo,cooking and travel.Me as a Teacher
I have been teaching English for more than 15 years. For the first 7 years I taught in Seoul Korea teaching elementary, middle school, adults, and business English students. For the past 9 years I have been teaching online. I have a lot of experience teaching all ages and levels including children as young as 4 years old to business executives. I also have a lot of experience with IELTS test preparation, USMLE test preparation, business email correction and feedback, business power point presentation correction and feedback, job interview preparation. etc. My lessons & teaching style
For my children's classes I focus on the target language from the Everybody up series or the Lets Go series by Oxford. I use a lot of songs from youtube, and other worksheets,powerpoint slides etc to reinforce the target language from the lesson of the day.
For advanced child students we often read an article, go over any vocab they do not know and then have a discussion about it.
For adults I personalize the lessons according to their needs and goals: conversation, test preparation(IELTS, USMLE), job interview preparation etc. Lately I have been teaching classes based on the tv show Modern Family. It is a big hit with my adult students since we are learning so many new idioms and vocab.My teaching material

We have been teaching with Josh for 12 months since last summer. We are very satisfied. Josh has the ability to organize lessons in a more interesting format if the child is not in a good condition and to bring out his abilities. And Josh has a good understanding of South Korea, so when a child doesn't know a certain word, he can often explain it in Korean. This is a great advantage that is hard to find in native speakers.
