Hello, I lived in Belgium until I finished university, but travelling was always my passion. So, after graduation I started working all over the world. Because I could speak several languages, I found work as a teacher, translator, customer support agent and tour guide in more than 40 different countries.
in 2014, I fell in love with a wonderful woman from Mexico. She made me decide to stop travelling all the time and to settle down with her in Mexico.Me as a Teacher
Until the start of the COVID 19 crisis, I was teaching both online and in a language institute in Mexico where we take our students from beginner level to proficiency. But since the start of the crisis, I have been teaching online fulltime. I´ve always loved meeting people and talking to people so when I stopped travelling and settled down here in Mexico, working as teacher was a logical step. I really enjoy seeing my students develop and improve.
I´ve taught people between the ages of 14 and 70. My students tell me they like my classes because I am patient, have a sense of humor and because I make them feel comfortable in speaking the language that we are learning.My lessons & teaching style
I adjust my classes so that they are suitable for that specific student. If you are preparing for the NT2 exam or het inburgeringsexamen, then my class will be different than for someone who wants to learn Dutch for business purposes or for someone who want to learn Dutch in order to adapt more easily and have more fun during their stay in Belgium or Holland.
I focus on all aspects of the language. reading, writing, listening and speaking. For most students I focus most on the speaking part. I like my students to speak a lot during my classes. This is the only way to overcome the shyness people usually feel when talking in a new language.My teaching material

Eric optimally adapts the lessons to my individual needs. The hours fly by in the most positive way. It is interesting and fun. Even when I find very little time to learn, the lessons with Eric always motivates me to keep on learning. And that's what I think sets Eric apart from an average teacher.

Erik is open-minded, funny, attentive, and patient, which makes language learning very enjoyable. Erik is also very competent and skillful at explaining things, so I could progress much faster than I had expected.

Excellent instructor. My conversational abilities have significantly progressed studying with him. Also he is a pleasure to study with -- very encouraging and a good sense of humor. I highly recommend him (but please don't book him up too badly!!).
