Ayman and I spoke about the impatience of society and the convenience of things in the present day versus the past and he taught me some new vocabulary in this regard. It was very helpful.

Ayman taught me how to formulate the plurals using the construction that is commonly used in Egypt for recognizing how three letter verbs change in different forms, including the past tense. It was helpful to see how things change from the singular to the plural and I feel more confident I can learn these patterns. I'm also looking forward to reviewing these patterns again with him in the next lesson.

Ayman taught me how to say some new phrases in regards to customer service and tips at restaurants and coffee shops and other places. It was very helpful to be able to discuss these everyday type of interactions because I know these things will come up often when I visit Egypt.

Ayman helped me to understand the plurals and asked me if I had questions about them. We talked about the patterns and how sometimes you can perhaps guess which pattern a particular word will take for its plural but other times not. This is a very difficult concept but Ayman encouraged me to just keep learning more and more of them and then I will recognize how to guess more accurately what the plural will be of a word. I know the more practice I get with them the better I'll be. He also showed me some video materials to watch that have subtitles too so I can learn by more exposure to the language every day.

It was a great lesson with Ayman today. We went over several new concepts and the constructions of various nouns and verbs. He explained them in context using several examples as well. I'm looking forward to using these patterns to try to recognize a verb or noun right away.
