About Me

I hold a degree in Modern Languages and earned my CELTA qualification in 2017. Since then, I’ve gained several years of experience teaching English abroad in Spain and Austria. After returning to the UK in 2019, I qualified as a school teacher and have since taught both primary and secondary students. As a passionate linguist and lifelong learner, I understand the challenges and rewards of language learning first-hand. I've studied French, Italian, Spanish, and German at different stages of my life. I’m open-minded and enjoy meaningful conversations on a wide range of topics. My personal interests include languages and cultures, literature, psychology, nature, and spirituality.

Me as a Teacher

I am a CELTA qualified English teacher with 8 years of experience teaching all different levels and both children and adults. I have taught formally in academies in Spain, on a pre-sessional course at a UK university, in Austrian schools, and here online. Successful learning requires curiosity, listening and perseverance, both from the teacher and the student. As a teacher, I aim to provide exactly this (as well as encouragement, corrections/feedback and knowledge). Learning should be enjoyable, but it is not always easy. As your teacher, I hope to make improving your English as smooth and enjoyable as possible and to help you achieve your objectives, whatever they may be.

My lessons & teaching style

Lessons and content will depend on your objectives and particular interests. My lessons differ vastly from student to student and evolve organically dependent on interests and aims. I see my role as a facilitator and to provide a safe and comfortable environment for my students to practise their English. For this reason I aim for students to speak as much as possible during a lesson. The more speaking, the more opportunities there are for me to provide useful verbal and written corrections/feedback during the class.
