About Me

My name is Ruth. I am a retired teacher and live in the North of England. I was born in Manchester and support Manchester United Football Team. As I am retired I have a lot of spare time and would like to help others with their English conversation skills.

Me as a Teacher

I have worked in Sixth Form Colleges for most of my working life. For many of those years I was Head of the Law Department in College. We specialized in Criminal Law and so we had lots of students as it was very interesting and relevant to everyone's lives. Students at Sixth Form College are normally between 16 and 19 years of age and studying for their A levels so that they can go to University. I also work as an National Examiner for Law A level which involves marking students' end of course exams every summer.

My lessons & teaching style

My teaching style has always been relaxed and friendly. Many of my students ask me to help them with written tasks so that their grammar is correct and I am happy to do this. Others ask if I can help them with preparing for interviews in English which I am also happy to help with.
