Hi there! My name is Monika, and I am the coordinator of the Polish Course for Foreign Students at Jagiellonian University, where I am one of the Polish language instructors.
I have a postgraduate diploma in Teaching Polish as a Foreign Language. I also hold a BA and MA in both English and Japanese Philology. During my MA studies in Japanese, I passed JLPT N1 and spent one year in Japan travelling and studying at Osaka University as a Japanese government scholarship student.
Currently, I'm also pursuing postgraduate studies in Teaching English.
In my free time, I study languages. I also enjoy listening to audiobooks, reading, playing video games, and ice-skating.
Me as a Teacher
As a university instructor, my experience includes:
• teaching intensive and non-intensive on-site and on-line Polish language courses of various levels both to international and Slavic groups of students;
• teaching Polish language courses and preparing exams which make it possible for students to get a permit for residence of a long-term EU resident;
• teaching classes to the workers of The United States Consulate General;
• preparing foreign high school students to study in Polish at Polish universities.My lessons & teaching style
During my lessons, I encourage my students to work on all aspects of the language, but we focus most on conversation practice. Language, after all, is communication. I teach using the deductive method (I explain the rules) with elements of the inductive method (you discover the rules!). My teaching is spiral, which means that I teach concepts in a systematic and progressive way so that you can reinforce what you have learned and continually expand on your skills.
I'm very proud of my students because they continuously pass the State Certificate Examinations in Polish as a Foreign Language. I'm looking forward to helping you achieve your goals too!My teaching material

Monika excels at building lessons in a way that you can learn new things while at the same time reviewing what you have learned so far. She also has a good balance between exercises types (grammar, listening, speaking, writing, etc.). I definitely recommend her!
