**Para todos los hispanohablantes, yo hablo un poco de español. Por eso, si aprendes el suajili, soy un profesor perfecto para tí.** My name is Xavery Mpombo. I was born and raised in Tanzania. I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Sokoine University of Agriculture. I speak Swahili, English, and Ngoni (my ethnic language), and I’m also a student of the Spanish language. I love learning foreign languages and helping people with Swahili and English. I have been teaching Swahili and English to non-natives since 2018, and have learned so much about language learning and teaching, and how languages work. I happen to think that I’m open-minded, enthusiastic, and kind.

I'm so thankful and grateful to be formally learning noun classes with a native certified Swahili teacher! For me, this is the trickiest part of learning Swahili and Xavery is the best teacher to help guide you through this. I love his verb perspective approach, it is helping to unlock the mysteries of this new grammatical concept for me. Asante sana kwa kazi yako, Xavery. Wewe ni mwalimu bora!

Xavery is such a good teacher and his methods really work! I've studied Swahili noun classes in university, but they never did stick in my head. Xavery's method works so well and it's so easy to remember. Amazing teacher!

I have now had around ten lessons with Xavery and I'm really noticing an improvement in my Swahili. He has prepared lots of good material with interesting topics geared to my level, for conversation, reading, vocabulary learning. I really enjoy our weekly chats!

I learned so much in today's class, wow! Verb moods in Swahili are incredibly important and a crucial part of the language. As always, Xavery was so patient, kind, encouraging and motivating as I learned about the do for/to moods today. I also wanted to mention that his notes are legendary!! They are incredibly helpful and his English notes are absolutely superb. Ninashukuru sana kazi yako, Xavery, wewe ni balaa. Asante sana kwa darasa la leo!!

I am amazed at how much Swahili grammar I am learning in one single class. We studied Swahili moods again and I feel like they are absolutely crucial concepts to understand and communicate better in Swahili. They are also demystifying some of the verb conjugations which are unknown to me when I read Swahili texts. As always, I am so grateful for Xavery's patience, motivation and encouragement as I stumble through each class with my broken Swahili. Asante sana kwa kipindi chetu cha leo, Xavery! Ninashukuru sana kazi yako, wewe ni balaa!

As always, Xavery prepares amazing notes, explains everything with such patience and encouragement and motivates his students to learn even more. Asante sana, Xavery, ninashukuru kazi yako. Wewe ni balaa!
