Reach your goals with confidence! Hello! My name is Li-Zen (pronounced “Lee-ZEN.”) It’s very nice to meet you! I was born in Canada, but now I live in the United States. English is my native language. When I’m not teaching, I love reading, studying Spanish, learning new skills, and spending time with my friends and family. *Note: I’m formerly known as Kay Lin on this platform. Since 2019, I’ve been teaching here on italki. It’s been an honor to assist so many students in reaching their goals! Tutoring has been a lifelong passion of mine, which I previously did for free and for fun. In 2025, I studied and became a TEFL certified teacher. I’m excited to continue leveling up so I can teach and serve my students better. I am kind, knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. I am a good listener and will be happy to help you to speak more. We will focus a lot on building confidence in your English skills and in yourself! Because every student is different, I personalize my lessons to each student’s learning style, level, and goals. Lesson types: Conversation, Pronunciation, Grammar Focus, and Spanish Speakers. *Note: You may cancel/reschedule lessons up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled time here on italki. I have been taught by teacher Lin-Zen for the whole summer holiday! She is a very good teacher and teaches me speaking and writing with fun and creative ideas. We do a lot of Q and A with each other, I have learned a lot on pronunciation and phrases. She also gives detailed feedback on each lesson which can help me know my strengths and weaknesses. I think she is an excellent teacher.
