Agustí Mercadé

Agustí is a wonderful teacher. He created a shared folder in Google drive where he places various articles for me to read before the upcoming lessons. These interesting articles are curated to my language level, but also challenge me. During our sessions we discuss the article at length, and I get to inquire about unknown vocabulary that I did not recognize from context. If the discussion of the article at hand does not take up a large chunk of the lesson, we usually discuss related themes. The hour long conversation lessons go by quickly, because the two of us are consistently having a discussion.

Classes with Agus are the best investment I made in myself in 2022. Agus is an incredible professor.  Extremely caring, very knowledgeable, and knows how to explain the fundamentals of the language. He has gone above and beyond in his instruction and is always available to answer questions. I find it helpful that Agus is a skilled English speaker. Even though classes are in Spanish, he is able to explain things with 1-2 English words when a concept doesn’t make sense. His classes are extremely organized, and he is prepared to teach a breadth of subject matter. Consistent classes with Agus have made a world of difference. You get out what you put in, and I’ve personally seen a big difference in taking classes multiple times a week. And after spending 3-5 hours a week together, we’ve also become friends. This relationship has helped maintain accountability to complete exercises, review concepts outside of class, and read more. Try one class with Agus and you will see for yourself!

Agustí is an amazingly patient teacher who really cares about my progress. I appreciate his determination, patience and encouragement.

Agustí is amazingggg! He picks such interesting topics and materials to learn from, which he prepares so well and very far in advance. The discussions are so interesting and fun--it is always a matter of "what do you think" instead of "what is the answer" which is great for learning how to express more abstract ideas in Spanish. He's so patient with me and always helps me find the words I'm looking for (and encourages/affirms me when I say things well)! I absolutely love learning with him. Hiiiighly recommend his classes, especially book reading classes!
