Spanish Teacher . Certified but also fun, learn Grammar and practice conversation. Hello there! I’m Victoria, but you can call me ‘Vicky’. I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but I also lived in Southern Spain for part of my teen years. So, Spanish-wise, I got the best of both worlds. I’m currently living in the Netherlands (and struggling to learn Dutch too!) I studied Linguistics and specialised in Language and Cognition (mainly what happens in the brain when we learn, process and produce language). But my main interest is second language acquisition in adults (that thing that we all came here to do: learn a new language as adults!) I’ve been teaching Spanish as a foreign language for almost 7 years now, and after +400 students and many, many, MANY teaching hours, I have reached a few conclusions: Learning effectively goes hand in hand with having fun. Each student represents a different challenge, but communication is always a common goal. I love to get to know my students, their personality, learning style, expectations and fears. I build a relationship with them, and hopefully, at some point, I will no longer be your Spanish teacher, but a guide in your Spanish learning journey. If we work together, you will not only get grammar and rules, but real-life input, authentic materials and conversation practice. Learning a language has never been about sticking to grammar and completing homework; it's about taking a deep dive into the language (and its culture). Let’s meet, let’s have some fun!

It happens that Vicky and I have 8 hours of difference, and my classes are usually around my evenings, when I comeback home from work. And everytime after the class with Vicky I feel so cosy, energized, and uplifted, as if I had just gathered with a dear friend for some tea and hugs. Even if I had a hard day at work. Even if I didn't have time to do my homework. Those are the moments I will cherish. Gracias!

The progress I have made with Vicky has been amazing. From virtually not having the confidence to speak one word of Spanish, to sometimes going the full class keeping the conversation going mostly in Spanish. Incredible! And from that it has given me the confidence to join group conversational classes. She is really encouraging and is probably more happy than me at the progress I have made, haha. Vicky has pointed me in the direction of YouTube channels that I would find interesting, and also given me artists to listen to based on the music I like.
