Having completed over seventy lessons with Alexey, I am truly impressed with his skill as a teacher. For almost two years, he has been able to keep our weekly lessons ever lively and fruitful. He is happy to prepare lesson materials, such as study notes and exercises, focusing on subjects which I am struggling with. Alternatively, he is flexible and capable of answering spontaneous questions I have during our lessons. He is very good at finding grammatical explanations which are rigorous and comprehensive but also suited to my current level. Sometimes our lessons are purely in Russian for my speaking practice, but when I need a deeper discussion on finer points of grammar or usage, he can switch to English and speaks with wonderful clarity and precision. Alexey is an engaging teacher who is passionate about language, and generous in imparting insights from his experiences both as a professional translator and as a native speaker from a Ukrainian family with deep roots :)
