My name is Miguel, and my last name is Bear (I know, it matches my bear-like appearance).
I love my God, my family, my job as a teacher, and I'd love to meet you!
I worked and lived for a while in Chicago and Houston, and thanks to that, I love the United States (except for the northern winters).

I've been a Spanish teacher on Italki for 6 years (and I can't get bored of it)
My focus is on conversation, NOT grammatical perfection. Communication is number 1 because we're human, and that's what we strive to do: communicate!
I'll tailor the lesson to your needs.
I like to use modern books with real vocabulary and audio apps like Pimsleur that build on your listening and speaking skills. My lessons & teaching style
I work with an approach based on ORAL and LISTENING comprehension. Every class begins with a series of questions, ENCOURAGING the student to SPEAK as much as possible. For specific topics that cause a bit more confusion (For vs. To be, Past vs. Imperfect, Subjunctive vs. Indicative) we work with many examples to get a DEEPER understanding of the different use of these topics.
Mainly we´ll use GOOGLE DOCS to create homework and exercises with PODCASTS and MULTIPLE CHOICE TESTS. I also work with: GOGLE FORMS, PDFS, and ARTICLES.My teaching material

Miguel is a great teacher! I did 11 lessons with him to help improve my Spanish to fix some repetitive errors I had and to learn some new things such as conditional tenses and future tenses. I feel that after 11 classes of 1.5 hours my Spanish has become more fluid with less errors and more knowledge of different tense. Highly recommend Miguel to anyone the classes are fun and challenging with lots of ways he helps you improve! Thanks Miguel!
