Hello, everyone! I am Elena. I am from Guangzhou, a city in south China.
My Chinese name is Jiaxian; I am a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese.
I have been working as a language school teacher in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English for over five years. I mainly teach international students. In the classroom, I teach the language and share cultural and historical knowledge.Me as a Teacher
I already have 7 years of experience in online teaching, with certification to teach Chinese and English to adults and children. Also, I have completed IELTS teacher training courses with a certificate.
When I was in New Zealand for a working holiday a few years ago, I realized that learning their language is always the best way to know more about different cultures. That's why I want to help people who learn about the Chinese language and culture. At the same time, I am committed to supporting Chinese students in improving their spoken English and preparing them for studying and working in an English language environment.My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is patient, kind, and friendly. We can discuss whatever you need help with, whether reading, writing, listening, or speaking. I like to personalize the content to suit better topics that you are interested in and keep you engaged.
I used to work in the retail and management industry and enjoy communicating with people. We would have many topics for our conversation, such as travel, business, daily life, etc. I hope my class can make you feel comfortable practicing as much as possible.

Her lessons are great, she is so approachable! We started off the class by talking about events during the past week, and then it expanded to other topics. After that, we moved on to the reading material, which enabled more discussion based on the topics. As usual, if I wanted to know a word to express myself, I would always ask her, and she would write it down for me to review. I always end up using the vocabulary learned from her, making me sound more natural when speaking.
