I’ve taught English for over 20 years and Chinese for 2 years. I have a Chinese teaching certificate from and love helping students explore the language and culture. I used to be a flight attendant, which allowed me to travel and develop a global mindset. I enjoy Western culture and also love my own culture—especially its characters, food, and wisdom. I also love walking, swimming, Pilates, and watching TV shows. I speak English, Thai, French, and Italian, and I’m learning German. As a language learner, I understand your challenges and will support you with patience. Let’s learn Chinese in a fun and meaningful way—together! I started my teaching career way when I was studying in University. I've been teaching English in public school for many years, I'm good with children, I know how to motivate them and inspire them. During the Covid, I taught Chinese to some European students online. Unlike most Western languages, Chinese is idiographic rather than phonetic. I’d love to guide you through the secrets of Chinese characters. They’re beautiful, interesting, and often come with stories behind them. If you think the writing part is too difficult, we can start directly with speaking. You'll be glad to know that Chinese verbs don’t conjugate! For example: 我是，你是，他是，我們是，你們是，他們是 — we use the same verb for all subjects and all tenses. Amazing, isn’t it?

I bought a 5-lesson package to learn Chinese characters from scratch. The first two lessons were quite confusing, and although the last ones showed some improvement, I still felt there was a lack of clear structure and method. It seems the teacher is still exploring how to best deliver lessons online. Unfortunately, this approach didn’t really work for me, and I didn’t feel I gained much from the lessons. I’d recommend taking a trial lesson first to see if the teaching style fits your learning needs.
