Hi! I’m a TEFL-certified English tutor with over 5 years of experience helping adults gain confidence in speaking. As a native British speaker (neutral accent), I specialize in Conversational and Business English.
Originally from Norwich, UK, I now live in Turkey with my husband and three cats. Learning Turkish myself, I understand the challenges of language practice and create a relaxed, encouraging space for you to grow. Let’s turn nerves into fluency and confidence together!Me as a Teacher
I have been a Community Tutor on Italki since January 2020 and find it very rewarding to be able to help people to improve their English.
I am here to help you gain practice experience by having real conversations with a native speaker.
I pride myself on being able to build students confidence so that they feel comfortable speaking English and believe in their abilities.
I fully understand how nerve-wracking it can be to try to speak to someone in the language you are learning and I hope that you will leave the lessons with me feeling happier and encouraged. My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is relaxed. I am not a strict teacher so please relax and try to enjoy our lessons.
My main goal is to help improve your confidence and fluency with your speaking.
I can help you with your pronunciation, tone, widen your vocabulary and offer friendly corrections.
I have also recently introduced a new lesson type where the conversations are focused on work life and Business English.
I am patient and compassionate so hope to put you at ease.
Please note I only teach adults (over 18), and Italki's 24 hour cancellation policy applies to all of my lessons. Lessons to be conducted on Teams where possible.My teaching material

Clare is more than a teacher teaching you in the lessons. She is more similar to a good friend who will teach you with a lot of patience and love of her work. She is an empathic person and elocuent, you can talk with her about anything. I enjoyed a lot of speech with her, she corrected my mispronunciation and helped me improve a lot. I never thought I could progress fast, but with her it was possible. Furthermore, she always shows up on time :).
