Hello! My name is Thanos! I was born and raised in the city called Thessaloniki located in the north part of Greece. I have been studying English from a young age and after some years I found myself interested in Japanese culture. After studying Japanese for almost 2 years, I traveled to Japan for the first time in the summer of 2018 for 2 months of volunteer work. It was there where I discovered that I had a passion for teaching English! Since then I have been teaching English online and I have been polishing my English teaching skills by attending TEFL(Teaching of English as a Foreign Language) courses.Me as a Teacher
As a teacher, I believe in the individuality of each student and I understand that everyone has different learning methods. I have a cheerful personality, therefore, I will always welcome you with a smile! I will support you and help you learn English or Greek or both to the best of my abilities. Don't be afraid to make mistakes we all do!
I have 3 years of experience in teaching English online both to adults and children. I have been also conducting private home-based lessons for 2 years.
For children's lessons, I use various online materials like flashcards, games, and stories.
For Business English I use mostly authentic materials like business emails, company reports, and graphsMy lessons & teaching style
Having a lesson with me will be fun and relaxing! I am very patient and kind and my teaching style can be adjusted for every age and every level. Besides grammar and vocabulary, I am always up for conversations on any topic, since I love meeting new people and sharing cultures, opinions, and ideas! In case you want to try something different or you want to spice up your language repertoire you can choose to learn Greek! I really enjoyed my first lesson very much. Thanos is very friendly and relaxed and speaks very clearly and he is very encouraging and really attends to helping me get the pronunciation right. He's got good ideas of what to focus on in terms of content and is well prepared and seems to me to be a very natural teacher. He is also adaptable - open to what I wanted to look at. I didn't feel rushed by him or stressed or overwhelmed even though I am a beginner. The lesson just flowed. I'm delighted to have found him and will be booking more lessons!
