I’m Lia, an English teacher originally from London, now based in Spain. I’ve been teaching English for around ten years, mainly to adults who want to use English confidently in real life — at work and beyond.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked in NGOs in areas such as international development and public health. As a result, I’m very comfortable working with adults in professional, academic, and international contexts, and discussing complex or nuanced topics.

As a teacher, I focus on helping adults make tangible progress and feel more confident using English, without making classes feel like school. I work best with people who are motivated, reflective, and curious, and who want lessons to feel engaging and relevant rather than formulaic.
I’m a talkative introvert, so I value creating space for students to think as well as speak. I aim to create an atmosphere where making mistakes feels normal, progress feels steady, and communication becomes more natural over time.
Many of my students work with me long-term, but I’m also happy to support short-term or specific goals if we’re a good fit. My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are personalised to your level, goals, and interests, and we agree priorities together. Classes usually combine real-life conversation with focused work on vocabulary, grammar, and accuracy, depending on what you need.
I build in regular opportunities to reuse and review new language, so it sticks naturally over time. You’ll receive clear feedback and explanations, and I’m always happy to suggest optional homework or independent practice if that’s useful for you.
