So I realize this is an old thread, but I'm not satisfied with the answers here. Yes, theoretically you use "gostaria" (Condicional) to say you "would like" and "gostava" (Pretérito Imperfeito do Indicativo) to say you "used to like". However, in truth no one really uses the Condicional form nowadays in Portugal, specially not when speaking. Instead we use the Pretérito Imperfeito in almost situation you should actually use the Condicional. I would like to go out today for coffee. - Eu gostava de ir tomar café hoje. -> not "gostaria de" I would like a beer, please. - Eu queria uma cerveja, por favor. -> not "quereria" I hope this helps. :)

Podes usar esta expressão quando concordas com aquilo que a outra pessoa tiver afirmado. - Ele é mesmo inteligente. - Pois é. - A língua portuguesa é bonita, mas complicada. - Pois é. Espero que te tenha ajudado.

Temperament is "the emotional character or state of mind of people or animals" and how they show this. Gender refers to the the identity of a person, men or woman (or sometimes something in between) Usually women are said to show more emotional, to cry and be angry more often than men. Men are usually described as being calm and rational. So Gender Differences in Temperament means "how men and women act differently". I hope this helps :)

The correct answer is "are", because "a clock and picture" is the subject. If you change their position in the sentence this is easier to see: A clock and a picture are on the wall.
