¡Hola! Mi nombre es María Belén y soy profesora de Español e Inglés.
A bit about myself?... sure! Besides being a teacher, I will tell you more about that side of me in a sec, I am a passionate traveler, yoga and meditation enthusiast, as well as an avid reader :) I am super interested in learning about spirituality, consciousness evolution and psychology. I enjoy working out and being in nature.
I am currently living in my home country Chile but during the last five years I have traveled to over 20 countries, living and working with people from different cultures and corners of the world and I find that through Italki is how I continue meeting amazing people from a variety backgrounds.Me as a Teacher
I am native and certified Spanish as Foreign Language teacher as well as a Teacher of English as a Second Language. I have experience teaching different ages and levels. YES! I do offer lessons for kids.
In my students' words, "I am an outgoing and bubbly teacher". I always try to teach in an engaging way that at the same time feels structured and suited for my students' needs and learning styles.
I am patient, enthusiastic and always ready for a good conversation.
I try to be as organized and prepared as possible for all my lessons since I value my students' time and resources.

During my lessons I try to speak my students target language as much as possible, and through conversation tackle other aspects of language learning such as grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.
I like to keep my lessons real and relevant for my students, discussing topic, reading articles or even watching a video on a subject they are interested in and can relate to.
The type of lesson I would teach, however, would depend mostly on my student's needs and motivations.
As for my teaching style, I am friendly and reliable. I stay organized and prepared for my lessons with supporting materials.My teaching material

María is an excellent teacher. I am studying abroad in Chile soon and she has done so much to help me prepare. I am very thankful for her guidance, her organization, her positive energy and her knowledge. She has taught me about the culture, vocabulary, medical system, and food in Chile. I remember the first class I took with Maria and I thought it would be so difficult because I did not know any spanish to begin with and I also wasn't sure about one on one lessons. lol Then, as time went on I seen that she actually put in effort to get to know my learning style. She wasn't like most teachers who read from a book all the time and that's it. She asks you things and actually takes into consideración what you would like and how you learn next thing you know we are sharing recipes in español and songs..Two things I love. Eating and singing is two of the things I enjoy the most and come to find out she loves it too:) So, if you do decide to take this Journey with her just know lo vale la pena:)

Another great lesson. I've been off for a while, but Maria was very supportive and I soon lost some of my nervousness. The vocab in the chat is another great feature to practice some of the words I either couldn't remember of didn't know. It also allowed to keep talking with the prompt.
