About Me

I used to live in the United States. While living in the U.S., I taught Japanese and Japanese culture to local students and organized Japanese events such as Origami & Calligraphy lectures and Karuta competition.
After returning to Japan, I became a teaching assistant at the university and taught Japanese to exchange students at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Back at the university, I enrolled in a teacher training program and taught Japanese culture and society classes.
I know how challenging it is to learn another language, but it is also fun to gradually grow and learn to speak.

My lessons are flexible and communicative (focus on speaking). Let's speak Japanese a lot and enjoy it! I speak an appropriate level of Japanese according to each student's level.

I've had ~20-30 lessons with Jun Sensei and in all of them he's been an excellent and patient teacher. He's great at pointing out places where I'm making a mistake and working through it with me. In addition, he is always willing to answer any questions I have, even if they're not strictly related to the lesson we're doing. I have definitely felt my Japanese improve while learning with Jun.
