Experienced French and English teacher with 9 years of experience Hello! My name is Erica, a Canadian-American French and English teacher ready to help you learn. I was born in Montreal and grew up speaking English, French and Mandarin. When I moved to the U.S. at 7 years old, I lost most of my French as I was surrounded by English. I have since spent much of my life relearning and refining my French skills, and now love to share my passion for learning languages through teaching French and English. I hold a DALF C2 certification in French, the highest level of French as a second language that one can attain. I have taught French in both private and group settings for the last 9 years to both English and Spanish speakers, and love to focus on practical phrases, pronunciation, grammar, and culture. Additionally, I spent a school year in France teaching English to over 400 students, and recognize the common challenges that learners may have with English pronunciation, vocabulary, comprehension, and expression. I believe that the best way to learn a language is through conversation and enjoyment. My lessons will be tailored to your particular interests, with specific emphasis on any particular challenges you face in your target language. Whether it be through helping you draft a work email, constructing questions and ideas, or giving you tips on cultural references and slang, I am here to help!
