Hi nice to meet you. I am Akane. You can call me Akane sensei. I was born and raised in Japan. My personality is energetic and friendly. I love to meet people who are from other countries. I'm very patient and I love to encourage people. I know it can be hard to learn another language, but the most important thing is to have fun! I can't wait to meet you and help you improve your Japanese.

I was working as a kindergarten teacher for three years after I graduated college. After that, I lived in the US for two years to learn English. I have experience as working at a Japanese language school and teaching Japanese language to private students. I've been a professional teacher for eight years. English is my second language, so I can empathize with others who are also learning a new language.
日本では大学卒業後、幼稚園教諭として3年間の経験があり子どもの拙い日本語を優しく指導してきました。そして英語を学ぶ為、渡米し二年間コロラド州に住んでいました。現地の日本語学校での職務経験とフリーランスとして多数の生徒たちに日本語を指導してきましたので、プロの講師としては8年目になります。英語は私の母国語ではないので、私も他言語を学んだ一人として、他言語を学ぶ人の気持ちがよくわかります。My lessons & teaching style
I am able to teach students of all levels. I can use English while teaching or teach exclusively in Japanese. I teach through conversation so you will learn practical Japanese that is useful for daily life. If you have questions or you want me to explain more you can ask me anytime. I am always happy to help!
私は、どんなレベルの方でも教える事ができます。英語も話せますので、英語を使って説明もできますし、日本語のみのレッスンもできます。基本的に会話をしながらのレッスンで、話せるようになってもらう事がメインですが、わからない単語や、もう少し深く説明してほしい時は気軽に聞いて下さい。その都度、皆さんが理解できるまで何回でも説明します。My teaching material

My son loves having lessons with Akane, I believe it is genuinely one of the highlights of his week. He looks forward to his Japanese lesson all week. Akane is so positive and encouraging and shares so many interesting things with him. She's also very open to feedback and tailoring the lessons to have more or less of a focus on different things like the Japanese characters as you would like. Thank you Akane, you are a wonderful teacher!!

I was not able to book lessons with Akane Sensei as consistently recently due to some unforeseen circumstances in my personal life, and I've been waiting for an opportunity to do that again. It really was a joy to be able to talk to her again. She was her usual adorable, playful, and sweet self, and she was very patient with me throughout the lesson as always. My Japanese conversation with her flowed really well tonight too. I kinda cried after the lesson ended and I immediately booked another one for next week. I look forward to seeing her again :'o)

I am lucky to have found Akane-sensei to teach my son a month ago. She is a genuine professional teacher with a talent for imparting and nurturing Japanese language skills, and her lessons are an enjoyable and valuable part of his education. He speaks in Japanese throughout her lessons, and he has made noticeable progress already.

I am a 20-year immersion teacher with 3 immersion schools. I knew this was the right teacher for us, and I am confident she will bring my child to fluency over the many years to come. My child is 4 and did great. She really knows what she is doing for an immersion teacher, as I could tell easily from her videos. Parents - trust her and don't ask for translations. It's immersion and it works. : )
