Hi, my name is Jahdai. I am a 28-year-old teacher, married, and the father of two beautiful children. I majored in Industrial Engineering and have a passion for languages. Spanish is my native language; however, I am native-like in English since I learned it in the US as a kid. I speak German and French at an intermediate level, understand Portuguese, and am currently learning Japanese. I am from Guanajuato, Mexico. I lived in Texas in the past and have had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Mexico. I enjoy discussing a wide range of topics and am always open to learning and exploring new ideas.Me as a Teacher
I use various methods to engage and motivate my students, such as stories, role play, grammar, reading activities, articles, CI, and cross-talk. I am patient, understanding, and committed to helping each student succeed. I am also a lifelong language learner and avid reader. I have taken over 806 classes (and counting 😃) on italki as a student, so I know the ins and outs of italki and will gladly share all my experience.

If you feel lost and don't know what to talk about, don´t worry I am very talktative so our conversations wont ever go dry. I can also point out your mistakes right away or at the end of the lesson, whichever you prefer. I will always give you some materials to work with on your own.

English tutorI helped some of my fellow students with their English classes, offering tutoring and coaching for people taking the TOEFL exam. I also prepared some of my classmates for their mid term and final exams.

Community TutorI have been teaching/coaching students learning Spanish and Enlgish on Italki. This job has become my passion and I enjoy doing it every day. I employ different methodologies and strategies depending on the individual.
At the moment I am working on an online phonetics course so I can better help students with pronunciation.

Hello Spanish learners! You can stop searching for your tutor right here. Jahdai is a fantastic teacher! I've taken many classes with him so far and my level of understanding and ability to converse have skyrocketed since i started studying with him. He's a language learning enthusiast so he really connects with students and understands their process of learning. He has near-native English so there's no lack of clear explanations that I need when I struggle with a difficult concept or gramatical construct. He's very patient and makes his classes enjoyable. I’ve taken many lessons with Jadhai already and he’s a master at asking the right questions. In other words, he is good at naturally inciting me to talk more freely and fluently all the while discussing things he knows I will want to talk about. He definitely makes me feel comfortable speaking (/making lots of mistakes). I also like that he keeps what we discuss in a google doc that I can review afterwards. His English is excellent and he has good tips for speeding up the learning process.
